Hello!
My name is Teacher Brittany and I am from a small town in Pennsylvania, USA. I live with my husband, my dog and two cats.
For the past two years, I have been teaching English online for VIPKID. So far I have taught more than 2,000 classes and 370 students.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania and also a TESOL certification for ESL.
I provide private online English tutoring for children. In my classes, students will learn to speak and read English from a native English speaker. My classes are total English immersion, as I do not speak Chinese.
My classes are personalized for each student. We can focus on pronunciation, grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary, spelling or everyday conversation. We can use leveled readers, textbooks or literature. There are many examples below and more available.
Classes will be held via Zoom. The first class is free so we can test the platform and find the right curriculum. We can connect through WeChat or email. Please see the calendar below for available times and dates. I use Stripe to convert payments to American dollars.

Class Options
Specialized Private Classes
These private 1-to-1 classes consist of some warm-up and free-talk, curriculum activities, and a summary of what to practice. With private classes, the lessons go at the pace that meets the students needs. We focus on exactly what the student can improve on, and no time is wasted reviewing things that the student already knows.
Conversation Practice
Conversation practice builds confidence in students. The teacher will ask lots of questions to keep the student talking, and be correcting grammar along the way. This is also a great option for students that resist textbook learning. The subjects will be tailored to the students interests, keeping them excited and engaged the whole time.
Reading Classes
It's very important for students to be confident in reading English if they will be pursuing higher education or international business. By reading out loud, the teacher is able to correct pronunciation and the student is able to better understand the usage of new words by seeing them in context. Reading out out loud builds confidents is students of all ages and levels.

Students that have bought lesson packages have access to many English learning resources in the ‘members only’ section of the website. This includes many downloadable books, activities, and workbooks to pair with the curriculum that they have chosen. Parents can view future learning material and help prepare their students for success.
Students enjoy a fully interactive classroom hosted on Zoom, with lots of digital effects and fun. Class scheduling is simple and clear within the Calendly app, and all lessons are recorded (by request). Written class feedback and a video link is sent to the parents after each lesson (by request)

The teacher will remain in the class for the full 25 minutes of class time. If the student is late, only the remaining time will be used to teach.
Teacher lateness is extremely rare and teacher no-shows almost never occur. If the teacher is late by three minutes or less, the class will be extended to accommodate that time. If the teacher is late after three minutes or misses the class, the class will be rescheduled at no cost to you. After 3 incidents, the teacher will credit you with an additional free class.

If for any reason either party needs to cancel a class, a new one will be scheduled. Both the teacher and the student’s family agree to show respect for one anothers time by informing the other party via WeChat or email, as soon as possible, (at least an hour before class), if a class needs to be rescheduled. Both parties understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances like an emergency or power outage may result in a teacher or student no-show, if this occurs the class will be rescheduled as long as notice was provided before the class started. Classes will not be rescheduled or refunded for a student no-show with no notice prior to the class start time.
If for any reason either party can no longer continue with classes, the student’s family will be refunded for all classes that they did not use in their paid package.
IT problems occur, we will attempt to resolve it quickly. If it cannot be resolved, class will be rescheduled at no cost.
