Hello! I am Teacher Gwyn D. My classroom makes learning fun and interesting. I believe that every student can succeed with patience and encouragement. I have over 30 years of experience teaching English. I have a Master’s in Education and a Specialist Degree in ESL. I have taught many online classes and I hope to see your child in my classroom soon.
Class Options
Specialized Private Classes
These private 1-to-1 classes consist of some warm-up and free-talk, curriculum activities, reading and grammar. With private classes, the lessons go at the pace that meets the student’s needs. We focus on exactly what the student can improve on, and no time is wasted reviewing things that the student already knows. 25-minute classes.
Conversation Practice
Conversation practice builds confidence in students. The teacher will ask lots of questions about an interesting topic to focus on social and academic speaking skills. Grammar and sentence complexity will be addressed along the way. This is also a great option for students that resist textbook learning. The subjects will be tailored to the students interests, keeping them excited and engaged the whole time. 25-minute classes.
Novel Studies
Reading is a fun and effective way to build confidence. Reading and discussing English texts is an important part of becoming fully fluent in English. By reading out loud, the teacher is able to correct pronunciation, and then the student is able to better understand the usage of new words by seeing them in context. Students can choose an English chapter book to use during class. Students will read between classes. During class we will discuss, focus on vocabulary, explore challenging grammar used in the book, and practice strategies that all good readers use.

This includes many downloadable books, activities, and workbooks to pair with the curriculum that they have chosen. Parents can view future learning material and help prepare their students for success.

ESL Library
ESL Library offers relevant, thought‑provoking materials that focus on real‑world issues, historical events, and natural dialogues geared toward teens and adults. This resource has kid‑friendly lessons for young learners and middle schoolers as well as lessons for literacy classrooms. Through engaging topics, learners are challenged to put English skills to use in all domains of language use: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. (offers optional homework)
