Hi! I'm Teacher Patty!

I would be honored to have you choose me to teach your child. Together we will become successful English learners.

A little about me: I live in Saint Louis, Mo in the middle of the United States where it is very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer. I have 4 wonderful children and 2 beautiful granddaughters! I attended Truman University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education. I then studied at Lindenwood University where I earned a Masters of Education and Reading Specialist certification. I am also TESOL certified. I have been a classroom teacher for over 20 years. My experience is very diverse and ranges all the way from the Preschool level through High School, Special Education to the regular classroom. I have taught every subject but teaching communication and reading has always been a passion of mine.

I taught with VIPKid for over 5 years. I excel at student encouragement, scaffolding, error correction, pronunciation correction, attention to detail, conversation and extension. I taught more than 8500 classes and 1700 students! I received high praise from the parents of my students and maintained a 5 star rating!

For fun I like to spend time with my family, go hiking, and I love to read. My favorite place is the beach!

Specialized Private Classes

These private 1-to-1 classes consist of some warm-up and free-talk, reading and comprehension as well as other curriculum activities including phonics and grammar. With private classes, the lessons go at the pace that meets the student’s needs. We focus on areas that need improvement and emphasize conversational English.

Group Classes

Group Classes (2-to-1 or 3-to-1) offer a unique and fun opportunity for students to play learning games together and add a competitive but fun edge to learning. This also helps some shy students feel more comfortable. They will take turns answering questions and reading. The teacher will take extra care to make sure that all students get a fair and equal amount of attention.

Conversational English

Conversation practice builds confidence in students. The teacher will ask lots of questions to encourage the student to speak. Grammar and pronunciation corrections will be made in a more natural way.. This is also a great option for students that resist textbook learning. The subjects will be tailored to the students interests, keeping them excited and engaged during the lesson.

This includes many downloadable books, activities, and workbooks to pair with the curriculum. Parents can view future learning material and help prepare their students for success.

Students enjoy a fully interactive classroom hosted on ClassIn, with lots of digital effects and fun. Class scheduling is simple and clear within the app, and all lessons are recorded. Written class feedback and a video link is sent to the parents after each lesson.
